Beechcraft started manufacturing the Beechcraft Queen Air line in 1960 with several variation models being developed until 1978. The Queen Air is a twin-engine light aircraft, designed based on the predecessing Bonanza, with alterations made to the fuselage, and with the aim to be used for utility, commuting and private use. The very first model in the line was the Queen air 65, flying in 1958 for the first time. The Model 65 utilised two Lycoming IGSO-480 engines, and was easy to recognised by its straight unswept tail.
