Introduced in 1999, the Bombardier Global Express family is a large cabin, long-range business jet line, designed and produced by Bombardier Aviation. Following the purchase of Canadair, and their Challenger 600 jet, Bombardier aspired to develop a high speed, longer range business jet, with seating for a 8 passengers. The low-wing airframe comprised of semi-monocoque composite material and aluminium alloys, in order to grant a lighter aircraft, with fuselage mounted twin Rolls Royce engines. The first variant in the line, the Global 5000 entered service in 2005, offering a number of cabin configurations as well as modern contemporary avionics.
