Eurocopter EC 725

The Eurocopter EC 725 Caracal, now known as the Airbus Helicopters H225M, stands as a pinnacle of advanced military aviation, born from the lineage of the Eurocopter AS532 Cougar. With its first flight on 27 November 2000 and introduction in February 2005, this twin-engined tactical transport helicopter has become a cornerstone in the arsenals of several nations.

Capable of carrying up to 28 seated troops and two crew members, the Eurocopter EC 725 is designed for diverse military applications, including troop transport, casualty evacuation, and combat search and rescue missions. Developed to meet the stringent requirements of the French Air Force, it surpassed its predecessor, the AS 532 A2 Cougar, with more powerful engines, extended flight endurance, and enhanced combat durability.

The Eurocopter EC 725’s design evolution is marked by a five-blade composite main rotor, removable armour plating for troop protection, and Turbomeca Makila 1A4 turboshaft engines with a dual-channel full authority digital engine control system.
