Eurocopter Ec130

The Eurocopter EC130 (now Airbus Helicopters H130) is a single engine light utility helicopter manufactured by Eurocopter. In the 1980s it became of interest to the company Aérospatiale to further develop and produce a moderinsed version of their AS350 Écureuil. One of the most significant changes was the adoption of a Fenestron anti-torque device instead of the conventional tail rotor used for the AS350. The cabin space was also expanded by widening the fuselage, and hence providing the aircraft with a more comfortable passenger seating area. The EC130 also possessed several safety features for great reliability, including flight data recorders. By 2008 the EC130 had become superior over such aircrafts as the Bell 206, with sales increaseing in the years to follow.
