The MD 902 Explorer is a light twin utility helicopter, originally designed and manufactured by McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Systems from the 1990s, with current productions under MD Helicopters. McDonnell Douglas commenced the development of their MD 900 in 1989, first in the line to feature the NOTAR system, and powered by Pratt & Whitney PW200 engines. By 1997 the MD 900 was further developed with improved range and MTOW, and was then marketed as the MD 902. The MD 902 remains in production to this day.
