Piper Tomahawk Pa38

The Piper PA-38-112 Tomahawk was introduced in 1978, and was a fixed gear, two-seat aircraft. Piper aspired to create an aircraft for training and general aviation purposes. Prior to creating the new design, Piper had evaluated the needs of the modern flight schools, and had also consulted flight instructors about their views. The main criticism in previous trainer aircrafts was their very small spinnability. To aid this, the Piper PA-38 Tomahawk featured Whitcombe airfoil, and a new control system. The aircraft also utilised fixed tricycle landing gear, two front-hinged doors for cabin access, and was powered by a single Lycoming O-235-L2A.
