The Robinson R44 is a light utility and trainer helicopter produced by Robinson Helicopter Company since 1992. The R44 Raven was designed based on the two-seat Robinson R22. Most features were directly derived fromt he predecessing model, including the semi-rigid two-bladed rotors and landing gear, featuring the side-by-side passenger configurations demonstrated in the R22. The most significant modification for the R44 was hydraulically assisted flight controls and adjustable pedals installed. It was also fitted with a advanced fuel-injected powerplant, making the R44 an excellent pilot trainer aircraft.
