The Sikorsky S-76 Spirit is a medium-size, commercial utility helicopter, manufactured by the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation since 1977. The Spirit’s design was created to provide a medium-size corporate transport and oil rig support helicopter, the very first of Sikorsky’s developments that was intended for solely commercial use. The design consists of twin Rolls Royce (Allison) 250-C30S turboshaft engines powering four-bladed main and tail rotors, with a retractable landing gear. Sikorsky had proceeded to manufactured several variants for the aircraft, as well as choosing to update a number of their initial S-76 A models with more powerful engines and modified configurations.
